ONE10SPORT provides the ideal platform for ambitious coaches wanting to achieve success in the footballing world. The college is responsible for bringing an internationally recognised football association from Europe to South Africa to deliver their coach education courses to local coaches. The courses are held in such high regard, that UEFA accept the C License as a pre-requisite for the UEFA B License.
All coaches and managers look to emulate a managerial “great”, and with Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson both graduating from the association, it was without question that these are the coaching courses we would want to expose South African coaches to.
In July 2014, ONE10SPORT made an ambitious attempt to bring the best football association to South Africa. The proposal was sent off and within one day the association had responded with incredible news for South African and African coaches alike, they were willing to fly abroad to offer their coach education in South Africa. This European football association truly went out of their way to make the proposed visit possible and were incredible to work with throughout the planning stages of the visit, as well as the duration of the courses held in Cape Town. The courses were confirmed to take place from 22 – 24 April 2015 and the anticipation for their arrival was unbearable.
The morning of 21 April had finally arrived and it was hard to believe seeing Donald Gillies, Business Development Manager for the association, walking through the airport terminals on South African soil. The 3 days of course delivery was undoubtedly the best experience we had ever had the privilege of being a part of and to see 13 coaches receive their qualification for their Level 1.2 on home soil was a spectacular feeling for all involved. The experience was something we are all very thankful for and with all coaches motivated to persist in furthering their coach education, we are already preparing for phase 2 and accepting applications.
