Since the commencement of pre-season training in early August, both the Footloose Wine Sippers and Chicks With Kicks have been working hard to start the season on a positive note.
In a hotly contested match, Wine Sippers’ star Lize-Marie Dreyer, stole the show, finding the net four times as her team was clinical in the final third. The Wine Sippers raced to a two-nil half-time lead, before Lindy Behrens pulled one back for Chicks With Kicks. That turned out to be a mere consolation, as two more goals by Dreyer meant the match ended 4-1.
The Chicks With Kicks will now have a point to prove, as the sides are set to meet one another again, next week.
