MyComWinks’ first outing for the season was not much more than a formality as the defending champions raced to a four-nil lead to assume control of the game. Although Kings threatened throughout the game, the result was never in doubt as last season’s MVP Liam Whitfield as continued his lethal partnership with Jonathan Smuts. The pair amassed a tally of five goals and four assists between themselves.
Despite the result, there were positives for Kings. The team managed to penetrate last season’s strongest defence on numerous occasions, converting eight times. It seems like it’s only a matter of time before Kings make their breakthrough.
