Easyplay go marching on.

While fulfilling their bye last week, EasyPlay saw second place Matt’s Team draw level on points ahead of their game this week. As if that were not enough, the team would face an opponent unlike any other in league. Perhaps not able to compete on a purely technical level and with questionable fitness levels, the Expendables would nevertheless set a formidable challenge for the to-be-champions.

The Expendables were outstanding on the night, despite the absence of their defensive anchor in Zaid, the team remained resolute in defence while the team’s piano players Abdullah and Mikaeel, struck a chord upfront. The two linked well to progress the ball up the field and through a notoriously difficult to break EasyPlay midfield.

It was this progression which allowed them to match EasyPlay stride-for-stride, goal-for-goal, and even allowed them the lead late in the second half. As the match neared a frantic conclusion and with mere seconds on the board, it looked as if the season would see another upset.

Alas, it was not to be as defender Ozwald would come to the team’s rescue, as his right-footed shot found the bottom left corner with seconds to spare. All square at the final whistle, with EasyPlay now firmly at the top of the table and looking odds on favourites to reach yet another final.
